Dr. Steven Jorgensen grew up in Roseburg. He completed medical school at Western University of Health Science, COMP-NW in Lebanon, Oregon followed by residency at University of Nevada, Reno. He is excited to return to his hometown and join his father, Dr. Layne Jorgensen, in practice. Steven was initially drawn to medicine because he loves science and has a passion for connecting with people, and he feels that medicine combines these interests. He had an interest in many specialties, but eventually decided to specialize in family medicine due to the opportunity it provides to help a wide variety of people. Dr. Jorgensen stresses that he is all about family: he is a family physician and a family man, and when he isn’t working, Dr. Jorgensen enjoys spending time with his wife and four kids. Steven also dabbles in beekeeping, and enjoys woodworking.
