Our story began long before our doors opened on Newton Creek.
What you see today — our beautiful, state-of-the-art facility — represents decades of dedication to improving healthcare access for our community.

Key milestones in our journey:
- 1993: DCIPA (Physicians of Douglas County) is founded as a physician-led and physician-owned organization.
- 2012: DCIPA creates one of Oregon’s first Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs), known as the Umpqua Health Alliance.
- January 1, 2013: DCIPA and Mercy Medical Center partner to launch Umpqua Health, LLC.
- 2016: Architrave Health, formed through the 2013 merger, unites all subsidiaries under the single name Umpqua Health.
- November 2018: The Umpqua Health – Newton Creek Clinic opens its new, modern facility to better serve patients across Douglas County.
Since then, we’ve continued our mission to make high-quality, compassionate care accessible to everyone — right here at home.
Care Close to Home — Certified as a Rural Health Clinic (RHC)
As a Rural Health Clinic, we’re part of a program created to make quality healthcare more accessible in rural and underserved areas. That means our clinic is recognized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for providing comprehensive care where it’s needed most.
Our team includes physicians, nurse practitioners (NPs), and physician assistants (PAs) working together to deliver the right care, right when you need it — whether it’s a routine visit, urgent concern, or preventive checkup.

We’re also proud to be recognized by the Oregon Health Authority as a Tier 4 Patient-Centered Primary Care Home (PCPCH) — one of the highest levels of recognition in the state.
